Mother’s Day : Flower Pots
Saturday May 9th
80 minute appointments / Between 10-7pm
Treat Mum to a creative and fun-filled experience this spring with our Molded Coil Pot workshop!
It’s the perfect way to celebrate your wonderful Mum—she’ll create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind flower pot using a molded coil technique.
This relaxing and easy craft experience includes 80 minutes of studio time, all the materials, tools, and expert guidance needed to make a large coiled flower pot. Plus, every project will be glaze-fired and ready to pick up before May 23rd—just in time to brighten up your home!
This class is suitable for ages 7 up. Adult accompaniment is required for ages 7-13.

Master’s Class Workshops
These workshops are curated for enthusiastic potters who are looking to build specific skills and explore new techniques in small groups with award winning ceramic artist Lisa Gwen.
Agate-ware
Wheel Thrown Coloured Clay

Agate ware is the swirled marbled effect of mixing coloured clay on the potters wheel. In this master's class, intermediate throwers* will focus on the preparation of coloured clay and the 4 main techniques of controlling coloured clay on the wheel.
Participants will receive a pound of black, blue and pink clay as well as 3lbs of white base clay. For a total of 6lbs of clay. You are free to keep this clay if it is unused.
If you are a current member of the QI Clay Club your pots can be added to your shelf for you to trim and glaze another time.
If you are coming from an outside studio 3 pieces can be trimmed, bisque, clear glaze fired by the Q.I.C.C. for an additional $30 fee.
*this is not a throwing workshop, learning how to center, open and pull a pot on the wheel will not be covered. You will need to be able to consistently throw 1.5 lbs on center in order to apply the techniques introduced in the workshop.

Wheel Clinic

Level up your throwing skills in this 4hr clinic. Come with a personal growth plan in mind and receive individual guidance from Lisa Gwen based on your needs.
Throwing skills improve with repetition; that’s why the Wheel Clinic is structured to include unlimited clay and an extra hour of studio time! However, at the end of the clinic take a photo of your progress, then wedge it up.
If you are currently enrolled at the Clay Club you can carry 2 pieces over to your class. If you fall in love with a piece you can have it trimmed and glazed by Lisa for $20/piece.
Not intended for absolute beginners.

Part 1 : Printing with Slip & Paper on Leather Hard Tile

Take your green ware to the next level.
Explore the wonderful world of slip printing in this intensive 4 hour workshop. Learn how to prepare slip then try mono-prints, paper-mask prints and underglaze paper transfer prints.
Participants work on 4 6x6”greenware tiles in order to experiment with layering and composition techniques.
Your favorite pieces will be clear glaze fired.
